I've been through the list of authors who will be available to sign copies of their works. A formidable group. This is the place for readers, fans, and people curious about genres within and outside their comfort level!
Your remark is unkind. It was planned intentionally to coincide and compliment the Frye Festival when there were many readers in town. It was presented to the Frye management and there were no issues because we made the hours long so there would be no conflict of events.
Hi there, I am a local author as well and would love the opportunity to participate in this and other future events if possible. Who would I contact for sign up? Thanks
Sorry I wasn't able to respond before but this year we were full. Send an email to gmrdbookfair@gmail.com and I will make a note to keep you informed for next year.
My name is Terry Evans, and I’m a New Brunswick published Canadian author who recently returned home after spending 25 years living in Japan. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and my memoir series, 25 Years Under the Rising Sun — a four-part collection that’s now available on Amazon and at 5 other popular bookstores so far.
My goal is to bring this series to life and I’d love to see my books reach shelves across Atlantic Canada, where I believe they truly belong.
A little about my story: In 1998, I packed my bags and moved to Japan, not realizing how many unforgettable stories I’d collect over the next quarter-century. From marriage and family life to running my own English school and even owning a bar, my time there was full of adventure — the kind you’d expect to see in a movie. Plus me working with the Yakuza.
When I returned to Canada in 2023, friends and coworkers kept telling me, “Terry, you have to write this down!” So I did. Not just one book, but four, each filled with the kind of honesty, humour, and heart that readers connect with deeply.
If you search “25 Years Under the Rising Sun” on Amazon, you’ll see all four volumes available now.
I was also featured on The CARR Brothers Show (Episode 143, May 8) — it’s a great way to get a sense of my voice and the real-life experiences behind the books. The response so far has been incredible — some readers have even said it’s Netflix-worthy!
As a proud Canadian author, I’m asking for your support in helping share these stories — one that celebrates courage, culture, and connection. Having my books carried and promoted at the book fair would mean the world to me and for supporting local talent.
Hello Terry. Congratulations on your stories. I regret there are no spaces available for this year's book fair, however, I added your name to the wait list in the event there is cancellations.

ReplyDeleteI agree this is the place to be if you are a reader. Thanks for the nice comment.
DeleteDoing this the same weekend as the Frye Festival is a cheap shot
