Author Angel-Leigh Fox

Angel is a devoted mother of three exceptional children and the wife of a loyal and supportive husband. In addition to her role as a mother and spouse, she is a multifaceted local artist, singer/songwriter, First Aid instructor, and face painter, balancing these creative pursuits alongside her full-time career. After many years of hesitating due to concerns of ridicule and rejection, Angel has found the courage to share her personal story, with the hope that others may find inspiration and growth, as she herself has.

Author Bernard Bourque

Bernard J. Bourque, PhD, was born and raised in Sackville, New Brunswick. He is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the University of New England (Australia) and is the author of eight scholarly books and numerous peer-reviewed journal articles in the field of seventeenth-century French literature. His fictional works include the novels in the Mr. Louis trilogy (Mr. Louis, The Shock Reader, and Upper-Case G) and the novels in the Lupine trilogy (To Pick a Lupine, A Tale of Three Lupines, and Corfu Seductions). The primary setting of the six novels is Campobello Island (New Brunswick), where Bernard lived for thirteen years. His historical play Friend of the King deals with the Acadian deportation and the story of the Loyalists. He has acted in a number of theatrical productions and appeared as a background actor in the feature film To Keep the Light (2016; filmmaker Erica Fae), in the television series Frontier (2016; Netflix and Discovery), and in the television series Mont-Rouge (2024: Ici Télé - Radio-Canada). A strong advocate of literacy, Bernard is a past chair of the New Brunswick Public Libraries Board and a past chair of the Campobello Public Library Board. He now lives in Riverview, New Brunswick, with his wife, Sandra.

I live in Dieppe, New Brunswick, Canada, with my wife Gloria. I began writing in my mid 50s with no intention of stopping. Since 2013 I have published 10 novels and partaken in four anthologies. Happily retired, I spend most mornings working on my stories and publishing my blog, the South Branch Scribbler where I feature authors and other creatives, as well as my own stories. The rest of my days are spent with book related projects, time with family and other important issues, such as napping and taking life easy.

Her work is done with compassion, empathy, knowledge, unconditional love, and light, shifting the empath into a higher soul and consciousness level. Yvonne was born in a small town located in New Brunswick, Canada.

Originaire du Sud-est du Nouveau-Brunswick, Hélène Devarennes est une autrice jeunesse passionnée par tout ce qui touche l’imaginaire. Par le biais de ses œuvres, elle cherche à stimuler l’imagination des jeunes lectrices et lecteurs pour les amener à découvrir et à mieux comprendre le monde qui les entoure. Hélène a été invitée à différents Salons du livre et autres événements littéraires au Nouveau-Brunswick, en Nouvelle-Écosse, au Québec, en Ontario, au Manitoba, au Yukon et en France. En 2019, elle recevait le Prix d’alphabétisation Marilyn Trenholme Counsell, catégorie auteur publié, pour Une journée poney! Cet album jeunesse est écrit en trois langues, soit en français, wolostoqiyik et anglais. Hélène travaille présentement sur son premier roman pour adultes. Originally from Southeast New Brunswick, Hélène Devarennes is a children's book author that is passionate about everything related to the imagination. Through her works, she aims to stimulate the imagination of young readers to help them discover and better understand the world around them. Hélène has been invited to various book fairs and other literary events in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba,Yukon and France. In 2019, she received the Marilyn Trenholme Counsell Literacy Award in the published author category for A Pony Day! This children's book is written in three languages: French, Wolostoqiyik, and English. Hélène is currently working on her first novel for adults.

Author Joe Mahoney

I was born in New Brunswick, raised in PEI, and educated in Nova Scotia, Ontario, and France. I worked full-time for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation for 35 years where I spent about 19 years in production, working on all the major shows out of Toronto, including a decade making radio plays. In 2007, I left production to join the CBC management team, where I managed broadcast maintenance teams and, eventually, the eastern real estate portfolio. I spent my final year as both Operations Manager (Acting) for Nova Scotia and Regional Property Manager. I retired from the CBC in 2023 and now focus my attention on my family, my writing, and starting a little indie press, Donovan Street Press. I’ve also taken up karate again after a long hiatus and am trying to get back in shape. My debut novel, A Time and a Place, was published on October 1st 2017 by Five Rivers Press. My memoir, a behind-the-scenes glimpse of working at CBC Radio, Adventures in the Radio Trade, was published on August 1st 2023 by my own indie press, mentioned above. I’m a member of SF Canada, Canada’s National Association of Speculative Fiction Professionals, and SFWA, the Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers Association.

Author Don Bourque

Don Bourque lives in Maple Hills, New Brunswick. His writing career sprouted forth from the humble beginnings of winning a Grade 9 essay contest and a Grade 12 teacher who told him to never stop writing. Now, he is the author of multiple works, including a chapter of In Harm’s Way, Serving the Greater Good: Perspectives on Operational Duty (2006) and the Willow’s Wake trilogy: Willow: Awakened, Ascended, Avenged (2021), The Grand Chieftain (2023), and now The High Priestess (2023). Don has also worked in public education, in the private mental health sector, and spent thirty-seven years in the Army Reserve with an operational tour in Afghanistan, retiring in 2020 at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. These experiences, plus his studies in sociology, anthropology, and psychology, inform his writing. Outside of writing, Don was a drummer in a few pipe and drum bands and has been involved with numerous veteran and community associations, including the Army Cadet League of Canada and the Royal Canadian Legion. Don is currently President of the Writers’ Federation of New Brunswick. He enjoys spending time with friends and family, having two stepdaughters and several grandchildren.

Author Yolande Essiembre

Yolande Essiembre is an author, coach and workshop facilitator. Her passion for understanding human behavior and a lifelong interest in personal and spiritual growth led her to returned to university as an adult to pursue her dream of becoming a therapist. She holds a Master of Theology degree, along with a certification in social work, a certificate in religious sciences, as well as accreditation in various types of counseling and coaching. She is the mother of four children and grandmother to two beautiful granddaughters.

Doug Dolan

Doug Dolan was born and raised in the small village of Nelson, beside the magnificent Miramichi River in North-East New Brunswick. Doug is a seventy-year-old novice writer. He has self-published “Stories From the River” a memoir profiling his struggle to find his way through a painful gay labyrinth at a time when it was best to keep such a sexual orientation to oneself. A wide variety of readers has positively reviewed it. He recently completed the historical fiction. “The Mill” It follows the Burchill family of Miramichi over their 140-year dynasty in the lumber industry. He is working on an anthology of Christmas-themed stories to be released in 2025. He has recently completed a novella looking at the murders of two Moncton police officers in 1974. It offers a unique look at the effects their deaths had on one of their own. Doug lives with his husband in Moncton, N.B.
